A friend group is a strange thing. Everyone talks every day, and still nobody can agree on who the planner is, who always brings snacks and who mutes the chat for a week. The friendship quiz sorts it out. You answer 10 questions about how you behave as a friend, share the link in the group, and each friend guesses. They get a score, a label, and a spot on your scoreboard.

It is designed for groups rather than for one best friend: the school class, the college gang, the five people in your Friday night chat, the friends you made at a summer job and still talk to. The questions are about shared life, not just about you, so the people who are around a lot have a real advantage over the ones who only show up for birthdays.

Making it takes a minute, playing it takes a minute, and nobody needs to sign up for anything.

1 Answer 10 questions about you and your friendships
2 Share your link with your friends
3 See on the scoreboard who knows you best

What is the friendship quiz and who is it for?

It is a quiz you create about yourself as a friend, built from a bank of 24 questions about friend groups, nights out, parties and group chats. Friends who play are rated stranger, good friend or true friend depending on how many answers they get right, and the top three on the scoreboard get best friend, close friend and good friend badges.

It fits any circle: classmates, teammates, a hostel wing, old school friends who moved to different cities, or a new group you are still getting to know. People between 13 and 30 are the main players, but any group that shares a chat can use it.

How do you play the friendship quiz with a whole group?

Create it on your phone: name, 10 questions, done. Post the link in the group chat and tell people the scoreboard is public. Each friend taps the link, enters their name and guesses your answers one at a time. They see their result the second they finish.

The trick that makes it work in a group is turn-taking. After the first scoreboard settles, the person with the lowest score usually makes their own quiz to get revenge, and within an hour everyone has one. You end up with a full picture of who knows whom.

What questions are in the friendship quiz?

The questions are about how you act inside the group, which is exactly what your friends have been watching for years. A few examples from the bank:

  • How did you meet your best friend: at school, online, through other friends or as neighbours?
  • What is your role in the group: the planner, the funny one, the therapist or the chaos?
  • Your perfect night with friends: long dinner talks, dancing until late, a movie night or karaoke?
  • A friend cancels last minute. Are you secretly relieved or a bit annoyed?
  • What do you always bring to a party: snacks, drinks, good music or just yourself?

Can you use the friendship quiz to test a long-distance friend?

It is one of the best uses. When a friend moves to another city or country, the quiz is a quick check on whether you still know each other's current lives, not just the old ones. Send it a couple of times a year and watch the score. If it stays high, the friendship is holding up. If it drops, that is a sign to call more often, and the quiz is a nice excuse to do it.

Why do friend groups keep sharing the friendship quiz?

Because groups love a ranking. The scoreboard turns a vague feeling about who is close to whom into a list, and lists get argued about. It travels through school and college chats during holidays, through sleepovers and road trips, and through office friend groups on a slow Friday. In the US and the UK it is often a Snapchat thing, in India and the Philippines it lives in WhatsApp and Messenger groups, but the ritual is the same everywhere: one quiz, one surprising low score, and a round of new quizzes to even the score. Some groups make it a tradition at the start of every school year.

How do I see my friends' answers?

  1. After you make your quiz, tap “Check Scores 🏆” on your share page. You see every friend's score, and 👁️ shows what they answered.
  2. On that page, copy “Your private scores link” and keep it, for example in your notes. It opens your scores in any app or browser.
  3. Don't open your own friend link and fill it in yourself: that link is for your friends. The site recognises you only in the app where you made the quiz, or through your private link.

Friendship quiz FAQ

How many friends can play my friendship quiz?

There is no limit. A group of three works, a class of thirty works, and the link stays active as long as you keep sharing it. Everyone who plays appears on the scoreboard, and the top 10 are shown on the result page for all players to see.

What makes someone a true friend in the friendship quiz?

A score of seven or more out of 10 gets the true friend result. Four to six is a good friend and three or lower is labelled a stranger. The thresholds are the same for everyone who plays, so scores between friends are directly comparable.

Can I pick which questions go into my friendship quiz?

The 10 questions are picked for you from the bank of 24, which keeps every quiz quick to make and fair to compare. If you want a different mix, create a second quiz and you will get a new selection. Each quiz has its own link and scoreboard.

Is the friendship quiz good for a party or sleepover?

Very. Pass one phone around, let everyone make a quiz and guess each other's answers on the spot. It takes about two minutes per person and the scoreboard keeps a record, so by the end of the night you have a ranking to argue about until morning.

What is the difference between the friendship quiz and the best friend test?

The best friend test is about your personal taste, like colours, food and fears, and suits a one-on-one challenge. The friendship quiz is about how you behave in a group, like who plans, who cancels and who brings snacks, so it suits the whole chat.

Do I need to download anything to make a friendship quiz?

No. The quiz runs in the browser on any phone or laptop, and the share screen has buttons for WhatsApp, Snapchat, Instagram, Messenger and Facebook. There is no app, no account and no cost, now or later.

Will my friends see my answers after they play?

After each question they are told whether they guessed right, so by the end they have learned your real answers. That is part of the fun, because the next quiz they take about you will be harder to fail. Only you can see every player's full answer sheet.
